Demon

What if you were tired?
So tired that you could not think of anything else. The kind of tired you just wish were done with. Do you let the tired take over?
I have a Demon.
We have looked eachother in the eye; we have danced.
I have not met my Demon for a decade now, twice that since we last danced.
Now we dance again.

I was so tired.
So tired of not being enough, in anything, anywhere.
So tired of feeling something and yet nothing.
Can't it just all go away?
Can't I just go away?

The river. So cold. So dark. So fast. So inviting.

Don't go slowly.
I hear It call.
Run. Run to the water.
Over the edge.
Jump!
Let the cold pull you in.
Pull you down. Down
Numb you.
No fear.
No sadness.
Nothing.
You want to feel nothing, right?
So inviting.
Just let it take me.
Pull me under.
To the dark.

AHHHH. The dark.

The current can have me.
Caress me.
Take me away.
Under and away.
Quiet.
Dark.
Nothing.
Alone.
Gone.
Done.

Let the river wash away. No more.

You cannot run to the water?
Come little one, walk to it,
Walk to the water.
Let your feet sink into the sand.
Step closer. Closer.
Take one more step.
Another
Let the water come to your knees.
Surrender to the current.
Feel it tugging at you?
Calling.
Let the current have you.
Let your head come into the dark.
The cold. The nothing.
It will take you away.
Fast.
Forget.
Feel nothing.
Numb.
Nothing.

Don't go.
Let us help you.
Come to the water.

Come.

Come....
